- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, celery, and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Stir in tomato paste and seasonings; cook briefly to enhance flavors.
- Sprinkle flour into the mixture, stirring continuously to form a roux.
- Gradually add broth and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Lower the heat and mix in cream, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and thyme; simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
