Ingredients
- 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the ranch dressing by whisking mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Adjust consistency with milk; refrigerate.
- In another bowl, mix flour, cornmeal (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and milk until combined.
- Dip each mushroom slice into the egg mixture first then coat with the flour mixture. Let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to drain on paper towels.
