  • 1 cup cool water (divided)
  • 1 & 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Soak gelatin in 1/2 cup cool water in a stand mixer bowl.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, and remaining water; heat until dissolved. Boil for one minute without stirring.
  4. Gradually mix hot syrup into gelatin while whipping on low speed; increase speed to high and whip until thick (5-10 minutes). Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Pour into the prepared dish, spread evenly, and dust with powdered sugar. Refrigerate for at least three hours or overnight.
  6. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter and coat with additional powdered sugar.
