  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water or broth (for deglazing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms using a damp paper towel and trim stems as needed.
  2. In a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, melt and brown 2 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Add the mushrooms and sear undisturbed for about 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, dried herbs, and optional red pepper flakes; stir to coat.
  6. Reduce heat to medium and add remaining butter along with water or broth to deglaze the skillet.
  7. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until mushrooms are tender and sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with parsley before serving.
