Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 7 tablespoons chilled butter (cubed)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 5 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon red gel food coloring
- Nutella (for spreading)
- Marshmallows (approximately 12 for roasting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, cocoa, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix in butter until crumbly.
- In another bowl, whisk together honey, buttermilk, and red food coloring; then add to dry ingredients to form a dough.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/8″ thick and cut into desired shapes.
- Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for 6–8 minutes until firm.
- Allow cooling on a wire rack.
- To assemble, spread Nutella on one cracker, roast marshmallows over an open flame until golden brown, place atop the Nutella-covered cracker, and top with another cracker.
