  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ cup dry white wine (or beef or chicken broth)
  • 1 ¼ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish (more to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients by dicing the onion and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, dried onion, and Dijon mustard. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape mixture into four patties about ¾ inch thick.
  4. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for 5 minutes on each side; then set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, cook garlic and onion until fragrant (about 3 minutes).
  6. Deglaze the pan with white wine and simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Stir in heavy cream, horseradish, and Parmesan cheese; adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Return patties to skillet and simmer in sauce for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
