Ingredients
- 2.5 lb pork loin roast
- 1.5 lbs sauerkraut
- 2.5 tbsp chicken soup base
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves (finely minced)
- 1.5 cups apple slices
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 yellow onion (diced into 1/2-inch pieces)
- 1 bag wide egg noodles
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the pork loin roast with salt and black pepper. Sear in a hot Dutch oven until browned on all sides (about 4-5 minutes per side).
- Remove pork and add sauerkraut, chicken soup base, brown sugar, minced garlic, apple slices, water, diced onion, and black pepper to the pot. Stir well.
- Return the seared pork to the pot on top of the mixture, cover with a lid, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 90 minutes or until tender.
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and toss with unsalted butter.
