  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter – diced
  • 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate chips or squares
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. liquid red food coloring
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 8 oz. cream cheese – room temperature
  • 4 tbsp butter – room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup sifted confectioners sugar
  • Valentine M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and bittersweet chocolate together until smooth.
  3. In a bowl, mix the melted chocolate with sugar, then add eggs one by one, followed by vanilla, salt, food coloring, flour, and baking powder.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with butter and confectioners sugar until creamy.
  5. Layer half the brownie batter in the pan, spread half the cream cheese mixture over it, top with remaining brownie batter and dollops of cream cheese; swirl gently.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Sprinkle Valentine M&M’s on top while warm and allow cooling before cutting.
